My name is Jamie Eichar. I hail from the town of Winnetka; just a bit north of fig. I grew up a skateboarder “causing trouble” throughout the Chicago area and started filming little skateboard videos with my friends. As I grew up these little videos developed into a growing passion for film, photography, and music.
By my senior year of high school I was given the opportunity to do an internship with the video crew out in Yellowstone National Park. I filmed and edited a video for their website on the education program within the park. After this month long internship I fell in love with video work. Taking an idea and seeing the finished product, to me, is one of the greatest feelings.
Currently I am 21 years old and will be a senior at a tiny liberal arts school located outside St. Louis. I am majoring in what is called Mass Communications, which is essentially a major focused on all aspects of the media and the different mediums of communication. If we had a film major I must say that’s what I wish I could be doing most. My passion lies with editing and bringing a project to life which is why I am excited to get started here at Fig!
Five Goals for my experience at Fig:
1.To expand on my knowledge of film and photography.
2. Take advantage of all opportunities that relate to video, editing, filming, photography, and the media.
3. Put myself in creative and new positions outside my comfort zone in order to learn and grow.
4. To make work that I am proud of and would be willing to show to anyone and everyone.
5. To love my Job.
