I was born an American, raised as an American by immigrant Korean parents. I went to Catholic school, my parents are Buddhist. Since as far back as I can remember, I was always writing stories, drawing, reading so many books, creating characters out of catalogues and pretending to be someone else. Now I am constantly trying to find ways to do it as an adult.
I was educated some time at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, worked on the trading floor at the Board of Options, took off to Arizona and worked at a record store while delivering sandwiches. After working a countless number of random jobs, decided to go back to school for design. I tried my not so great sewing skills as a fashion designer, switched to Multimedia Production at the International Academy of Design and Technology and that was it for me, I just needed an area to focus on, because it's all interesting. Freelance graphic design followed and 3 years as a Webmaster at a Futures Brokerage has turned me into a want to be web master. I want to be able to create graphically unique user experiences and then make films.
Five Goals for my experience at Fig:
1. Work collaboratively and intelligently redesign areas that need improvement on the website. 2. Learn the fundamentals and principals of good design and user experience, so that my innate passion and skills will greatly improve. 3. Obtain a strong ability for developing dynamic applications from scratch as well as utilizing a variety of technologies to achieve certain results.
4. Help others achieve their goals, both clients as well as organizations I may work for.
5. In the future, work independently, armed with the best hand at the table, or call my bluff. |
