| As a graduate from the Cinema and Photography department at Southern Illinois University I came to Fig Media with two documentary films under my belt. Now, with the awesome support of my Fig team members, I have shot my first narrative out of college entitled The Byrd's Fear, and started Fig Independent Films. As an employee of Fig for the past two years, I have had the blessed opportunity to edit digital video on my G5 computer in the form of Wedding Music Videos, Wedding Long Forms, an Ice Cream Social, and a Liquid History (our small mini-documentary.) My editing skills have improved, as well as my attention to being attentive to different kinds of new details.
My personal goals include producing and directing a multi-million dollar feature-length film about Chicago in the year 1985, a feature-length documentary around the 1985 Chicago Bears, and producing a successful film-making company that touches the lives of all, and promotes the theory of creativity in everything we do for years to come. As an Alumni Volunteer for the Sundance Film Festival, I have spent three years out in Park City, Utah watching quality independent films, meeting film-industry proteges, and being closer to my vision of successful film-making.
Aside from film, I am a personal trainer at a Chicago north side fitness facility. I tend to be the "bird" and "get the worm" by training at earlier hours in the day, leaving time for my own workout and the rest of the day's tasks.
I enjoy a GOOD meal by cooking often to not only save money and eat food that tastes well, but to eat with more health-consciousness. My home is in the Old Irving Park area of Chicago where I have easy access to the highway, and enjoy my quiet family-based neighborhood with plenty of parking for my '01 Chevrolet Cavalier.
I very much love my two younger brothers Robby and Ricky, my Mom, my Father, my Grandmother (may she rest in peace), and the rest of my extended family that has taken turns on supporting my upbringing. |
