I am
a Korean Hick … not … while I was born in
Knoxville, Tennessee, I grew up all around the USA -
Arizona, Washington, and Illinois (No, my father was
not in the army). I have a deep passion for truth and
happiness. I believe that creativity is a great way
of fostering that passion. I graduated with a BA in
sociology from Benedictine University, but started my
college career at UW-Madison. While my major has helped
a great deal in my career & perception on life,
it was graphic design that caught my heart. My exploration
in graphic design started in college when I pulled pranks
on my friends’ photos, fortunately, they’re
still my friends. I later moved onto designing print
collateral for major events for several student organizations,
where I served as an event project coordinator and social
chair.
Before fig, I worked at the Chicago Sun-Times as a
strategic marketing specialist and graphic designer.
I then joined AmeriCorps (the domestic Peace Corps)
and served out in Los Angeles, California, where I worked
with Youth Venture, a non-profit that inspires and invests
in teams of young people to design and launch their
own lasting social Ventures, enabling them to have this
transformative experience of leading positive social
change.
Outside of work, I enjoy jamming on the guitar and
singing with friends about whatever concerns us at the
time. If and when I get married, my mistress will have
6 strings hanging from her neck and a giant hole in
her belly (I apologize in advance to whoever my wife
may be). I also love spoken word and I try to let my
pen express all feelings that may bring me to my knees.
I love to inspire and be inspired. I strive to be a
student of life.
