Born in Cleveland, and raised in Chicago, Brian has been at fig for 4 years. He has a strong fine arts background, and a degree in graphic design from the University of Illinios-Chicago. His areas of expertise, here at fig, are as a photographer and deejay. With 3 solid years of weddings and events under his belt, Brian has built a powerful portfolio of work.
favorite photo events
Sarah and Dustin“The Wedding” @ Prairie Production - This was the wedding with the “quirky" bride and groom, Sarah and Dustin. I captured pictures of the wedding party at a school playground. "The famous bridal party hanging out next to the brick wall". I suggested this scenario, and the bridal party took it to a whole new level.
Sarah and Dustin “The Engagement Session” - I worked with fig photographer Billy Rood to direct and capture the couple in unique urban settings. Their vision for the photographs was “rock album covers”, this was the goal and result of the shoot.
Ana and Dan @ The Swissotel - The Groom could not take his eyes off of the Ana. Love was in the air. It was like the cameras were not present when they came together.
Jason and Michael @ The MCA - An outdoor commitment ceremony at the modern museum. It was a beautiful example of family supporting one another.
suggested city locations
Millenium Park, Olive Park, North Avenue Beach, Oak Street Beach, Chicago River Bridges, CTA platforms, local parks, local hangouts
I have the skills to play all types of music genres. Successful events happen when I play just the right amount of each, so that the client and their guests have a great time. I enjoy playing all eras of rock music. I have been know as the fig 80s deejay.
favorite deejay events
Keough/Wagner @ The MCA. This couple liked 80s and Indie Rock. New Order, The Cure, and The Postal Service
Wanzer/Derhake @ River East Art Center. This was a fun crowd that was on the dance floor all night. The guests started to slow dancing during dinner, and went from there. I ended with “Laid” by James, back to back. The bar that they met at did this at the end of every night.
Kern/Lewis @ Architechual Artifacts. She is a hair stylist and he is a Tattoo Artist. They were introduced into the room to Slayer. Their taste in music ranged from 80s Pop to Classic Punk.
HIDA Dodgeball Tournament @ the Hyatt. Imagine the movie dodgeball, this event was just like that. DJ Erik and I played rock music for the intros, hip-hop for the matches, and we djed the after party.
