Syd Jerome was a project that came out of our relationship with CS magazine. James Gustin produced the video and I (Tim Musho) directed the video. This project was a 3 month process of interviewing some of the most influential people in Chicago wearing Syd Jerome suits. After we had captured all of the interviews along with b-roll came the editing process. I edited the video coming from the idea of making a combination of Roast/Toast video. The challenge about doing a video like this is making it funny. A lot of it was intuition on what I think this group would think is funny and also honoring of Syd. So the answer came when I showed this video to outsiders of the Syd Jerome world and they laughed. On the night of the event is where all the hard work from the past three months come to a end. It is a big part of our process at fig as a filmmaker, to see our worked screened and the reaction that the crowd makes to my work.
