The Fig Integrated Experience strikes again–and this time the Mayor was invited! On May 23, 2006 Gateway Green threw a big party at the Fairmont Hotel in Chicago for their 20th birthday. Fig provided DJ services for background music, digital photography services to capture live images of the party, and video projection services to create the visual backdrop for the event. We projected the live photos, sponsorship logos, and slides to accompany the speeches. Gateway Green was also kicking off their summer-long restaurant program and so more than 15 of them were on-hand to share their gourmet treats. The event culminated with a speech by Mayor Daley and then him cutting a cake while opera singers sang “Happy Birthday”. Oh, and the producer Andrew Ettenhofer got his photo with the big man himself!

Fig's services included:
DJ rig: two CD players, one DJ mixer, one corded microphone, all necessary cables, and a broad and diverse music library

Sound system:
two JBL 15” Eons for the front of house, and two smaller 10 “ Eons in the back to fill out the room and create a more balanced soundscape

DJ personnel: obviously, one talented person to read the room, to pick appropriately tasteful music, and to help facilitate the sequence of events that night

Live visual mixing: artfully blend stock images and other media from Gateways Greens into visual backdrop for the event, trigger certain visual cues (slides) during the actual program, also combine digital photography from the event into the overall presentation

VJ personnel: again, one talented person to read the room, to select compelling eye candy to project on the screen, and to help facilitate the sequence of events that night.

Digital photography:
capturing live party pictures (including chef stations, room shots, candid shots of guests, the speeches, etc.) for visual projection that night and for archive sake.

Photographer:
yet another talented person to work the room and the crowd in order to document the most interesting things and people at the event in the most compelling way.

Floater: another talented person who can assist the DJ, the VJ, and the photographer with set-up and then with the flow of the evening; may relieve the main DJ at one point, may edit photos at another point, may act as a runner at any point.

Event production:
pre-planning and creative consultation, compiling media for the evening’s presentation, coordination with other vendors and suppliers, coordination with Gateway Greens about the sequence of events and their execution, day-of management including set-up/tear down crew.
